Airport

Marseille-Provence airport is the main airport in the Marseille region, with 33 airlines and over 120 destinations, including Paris CDG, Lille, Strasbourg, London, Brussels, Madrid, Rome, Lisbon, Istanbul and Agadir, etc. The airport is located in Marignane, 25 km from Marseille and 26 km from Aix-en-Provence. It can be accessed on public transport by bus or train.

Train

Main train stations: Saint-Charles station in Marseille, the TGV station and SNCF station in Aix-en-Provence. These train stations provide transport links to the major French cities: Paris (approx. 3 hrs), Lyon (approx. 1.5 hrs), Strasbourg (approx. 5.5 hrs), Nantes (approx. 8 hrs). Tickets can be purchased in all French train stations, SNCF shops or directly online at http://www.oui.sncf.

Ouigo offers budget train travel. Tickets can only be purchased online at https://www.ouigo.com.

Regional transport

The South Region has grouped all its trains and coaches into a single transport network called ZOU! Visit ZOU! to plan a journey, buy tickets online and find the best route using the interactive map.

How can I obtain the transport card?

You can buy the transport card from ticket offices by providing the following documents:

  • Identity document (e.g. passport);
  • One colour photograph;
  • Bank details (for monthly/yearly subscription)

Your driving licence is valid in France if it was issued by a country in the European Union. If it was issued outside the European Union, you are free to drive in France for the first 12 months of your stay. After this, you will need to contact the Préfecture to exchange your driving licence for a French licence. Self-service car rental
